Granny hearts I've made forever but this time I used a tutorial. Miss A~ Loves her new bunting hanging over her bed. Very Cheery!

Some fun things I'll be working with today, haberdashery, notions sewing pretty little things, crocheting a doily or two. My Mama is coming next Sunday for a few days' visit so adding some sweet decorations and nice little touches to our home are in order.

Buttons, I love the little heart and the big folk heart!

Granny hearts and a sweet little hexagon motif, that will be a pincushion soon.

Bunting, I just love this stuff, I know it's every where, but it really looks like party or picnic, they add so much cheer to a room and we need all the happy we can get now a~days.

Now for some nurishment, what better way to start the day than to pray and then have some Pink Iced cookies? (...ummm, some little someone in my home has already taken a bite of my cookie....guess they wanted one too!) Have a charmingly sweet and fun filled day with your family, count your blessings out loud and Love Like Jesus! Have a beautiful day!

A mitten or two...

I know it's after Christmas, but I worked up a pair of mittens over the past few days. Cables, cables and more cables! I am taking a page from a friend and am going to work all year long to make gifts and put them in a box to have ready when I need as well as donations. Mittens and scarves are always a great go to because they are needed.

The pattern is Rugged Mountian from Crochet Garden, this one is Avalanche. We have some dr. appts so see ya later! Have a great day!

I can't seem to find the photos of the dress! She is wearing it in the bottom photo, but you can't really see it, I will keep looking. The dress was the Miss Madeline pattern from The Hand Made Dress. I adore their pattens, the designer is a SAHM and is so very sweet.

A new dolly for Miss A~

a few months ago...back before the new laptop, I took Miss A shopping for some fabrics to make her a Raggedy Anne type of doll. Here is our journey for sewing Miss A's Raggedy Anne.

I had one when I was little and my Mom just gave him back to me last summer. Many, many memories, even though it is stained and faded and missing his jumper, I still cherish this little clown. The arms and legs had been sewn back on many times.

So I had to draft a pattern, you can find simple ones for free online.

Please excuse my very simple sketch, lol. :)

These were the fabrics she choose. She LOVES pink. All little girls seem too.

I did sew seperate fabric for the shoes so the legs and feet were 1 piece. You can see how much smaller the piece is when turned rightside out, the whole body was made this way, then stuffed and the face was sewn before stuffing.

The hair does kind of look funny before being sewn on, but using masking tape and then sewing on a sewing machine really helps. I used a tutorial for that, but I can't remember where from now. You can look up waldorf doll hair tutorials.

Isn't she cute? An updated Raggedy Anne style doll for Miss A to cherish for many years. Just like I cherished my little clown. A gift from my mom to me to Miss A.

I've decided for the next few days to work on some sewing and embroidery projects.

Cable Car Hobo

LOOK! Isn't this gorgeous? This is the Cable Car Hobo bag from The Crochet Dude Himself, Mr. Drew Emborsky. I have loved this bag from afar for quite some time and since I needed a new bag, (the last one has something all over it, idk how it got there, AHEM....kiddies, anyhow) I finally decided to purchase the pattern and give it a go and I am soooooooo glad I did.

I am In Love. Nuff Said. Fantabulous, great pattern, straight forward, very professional. Love it! The color is more teal than blue, but teal can be hard to photograph. So, have alook, check out The Crochet Dude and have a great evening!!!!!

Miss A's first sewing lesson.....

Sharing my love of sewing and eventually crochet is something I treasure with Miss A. She is having so much fun this morning! I drew a picture of a Matryoshka doll, and used a tiny 1/8th inch hole punch to make the holes. She is sewing with a ribbon and is making a good go of it, as you can see! She does seem to have more fun running and allowing it to fly behind her like a kite. :) We have some sewing in our very near future!.....and kite flying! Have a beautiful day!

It's fun to create pretty things. Just kinda sets the mood, ya know?

The above photo is things I've finished in the past couple of weeks and the bottom photo are things I'm trying to finish now.

Since Valentine's Day is just around the corner...goodness...can you believe it? So soon, anyhow, I've been making hearts like crazy! Some for gifts, some for teacher gifts, some to list quickly on etsy, btw I will be starting that soon! Yay! :D As well as a few home furnishing things and some new colors I've not worked with in a while. Are you excited? I am! New yarn or new yarn colors are like candy for your fingers, only without the calories. :) Maybe some totes too...

Mandala madness and some news...

Isn't it cute! I haven't crocheted one yet, because it seemed like everyone else did, I kinda like to do my own thing, but I couldn't resist any longer. Love, love, love it! It's like the energizer bunny, it just keeps going and going, lol. One thing I did notice...I need some new colors of yarn. :P

Ok, on to my news. It's not really big or huge or all that great but it is so good for me! I was going to wait till everything was set up and ready, but why wait? I'm going to set up my etsy store again and also do some craft shows and markets locally. Yay! This makes me happy. Maybe no one will buy my stuff, but I'm ready to sell again as well as submit a few designs/patterns and see if I can get published. :0) I do have a book idea...but that's another story for another day. Sooooo I'll be purchasing a new pc and will once again post pretty and detailed photos and tutorials and such. You have no idea how really really happy this makes me. :) After this past year with all its trials we think its ok to make this purchase again. Have a great Wednesday! Crinoline Ladies...

I began making Crinoline Ladies a few years ago, then found out I was having Miss A.....and the Crinoline Crocheting began in full force. I had this idea to make each lady a quilt block, so I'd have sewn them to fabric and sewn a quilt. Well, 4 years later no quilt, but they are starched and going on Miss A's wall as a decoration. There are many more, some from patterns some I made up, like the ballerina. A good place to look for Crinoline Lady patterns is Crochet Memories. That's where I got started, plus I think crocheting with thread is a pleasure many haven't experienced. Its so delicate. Talk to you again soon, enjoy your weekend!!!!!

Decisions, decisions

This is how Miss A and I are spending our morning. Deciding on new projects to get us ready for Valentine's Day crafting, but as I went looking for something...I ran across a bit of unfinished business. So many projects started, but not done, so I'm trying to decide what to do with them, squares for afghans not complete, hexagons for the same reason...the squares I think I will donate, the hexagons I'll keep because I really do want a crochet quilt of different hexagon patterns, and the scarves, they will get finished as well, in time and will also be donations. Right now, I'm just enjoying spending some "mommy and me" time with Miss A while the boys are at school. BTW, I added a little bit Hershey's cocoa powder to my morning coffee with sugar free French vanilla creamer, (cutting way back on the sugar intake this year) and it was wonderful! Great way to start the day. Have a great one! ;)

Miss A's new bag

Is so fun, just used scraps of varying shades cream, pink and blue. Great way to use up stash and the handle is my absolute most favorite stitch of all time besides the picot, a rice stitch. So dainty and feminine and sweet. She loves it, maybe we'll use it for a library tote for her books. Or day trips to the flea market. Have a great day!!!!!

Crochet style! At least for right now. I've decided to take a page from Heather's book, and work up a solid color cable afghan. The color is teal, so warm and deep. Beautiful. I need a new throw for my gandmas rocking chair. She gave it to me when I was preggers with my first child. I do have some greeeeeeeat news, well I will in a few weeks, maybe a month or so. These I worked up yesterday, super fast. They are toddler size. No thumb space using a size h hook,
(I hook if you Crochet tightly) switching to a g for the ribbing. Red Heart super saver. Joining each row with a slst, ch1.
R1, ch2, 6sc in 2nd chain from hook.
R2 12 dc
R3 2fpdc around next st, fpdc around next st repeat around. (18fpdc)
R4-9 fpdc around each st.
R10 change colors, fpdc around
R11 change back to main color. Change to smaller hook, fpdc next stitch, bpdc around next stitch, around
R12 change to contrast color and repeat last row, finish off and weave in ends.

Makes a cute quick gift for donation, the hook size change provides a sizing change making the ribbing smaller to stay on the hand. The fpdc makes the mittens thick to keep little fingers warm. Enjoy! (When I finally get a new laptop, I'll format it into a "real" pattern)

African Violet Stocking

I have been getting some requests for the back of the stocking, so you can see how it was sewn together. So the photo in this post is one side and the previous post is the other side. The hexagon for the toe fits, but makes the toe area round...so to get it flat I just smooshed it flat with my hand and pulled the toe a bit to stretch it into shape, it doesn't bother me that it isn't flat because it is so pretty. So enjoy, post me a link if you make it too. Maybe you can figure out how to make the toe flat? I just didn't have much time to engineer that part. Lol! Happy crocheting!

Finally! Inspired by Tiago's african violet stocking on ravelry, I knew when I saw theirs that my stocking pattern hunting days were over. It was tricky to sew up, but I love how it turned out. We've been making paper Christmas ornaments from wrapping paper, cards, origami, I'll show you a photo soon. My mom is coming next Friday so we've been going crazy making and cleaning and ahhhhhh! I've been sick. Really sick. Chest cold, sinus infection and ended up Saturday in the ER with a kidney infection. I do feel a little better today, thank you Jesus! :) I spent the rest of the weekend decorating the Christmas tree with the kiddies and reading a fantastic Nicholas Sparks novel, is there any other kind? They are all fantastic, and crocheting more snowflakes. Many more snowflakes to come too, since some are going on the tree and some are going in Christmas cards. It's raining here. So I'm going to cuddle up with my hook. Since I've already finished the book. Enjoy your day! All day long!!!!!

cause a broken heart...

This morning I dropped my oldest son off to my aunts. They are working the foodbank at the church. She has 3 names off the angel tree to buy Christmas for children. She does that every year, one of them is a 2 month old baby, all they asked for was formula. No toys no clothes. Not even diapers. Just formula. My heart broke. That's all I can say, it just broke. We've had it rough before, even now are on a budget to better supply our needs in a cost effective way, but that is desperate. My aunt gave me these squares she had made and asked me to sew them together to send with the formula. They are 5" and not very many so I'm doing a flat braid join and a nice border and it should be big enough then. So this is my cause today. Working to finish this blanket. Still making hats and gloves to donate and a few to sell in the market too. What projects are you working on at the moment?

For the bag in the previous post. For some odd reason my not so smart smart phone isn't letting me post more than one photo per post...sooooooo here is the sweet liner! I did line the bag before crocheting the tops and handles. I highly recommend this for Japanese patterns. ;) Have a great afternoon! Which I looooove!!!!! It's a Japanese pattern, which I also love, its quite big actually, worked up in lite grey, almost silvery and has a pretty pink liner with lime green thingies decorating the fabric. I did sew in a small pocket which is just a smidge to small for my phone, but I forgive myself for that because I adore the bag! As well as a snap, it not only keeps the bag closed but also helps keep it from dipping in the center. The post sts are fantastic too! Can you tell I'm in love? Hahaha! Have a great day!!!

Of yarn! Can you believe it? I've been working on some hats and flowers, trying to get ready for a market day by using all stash and scraps. Sorry for the low light in the photo, its raining so not much natural light. My ww is about gone! Now, hopefully with all the bits of this and bits of that used up, I can justify buying some new yarn. :0) After the past week, this will be a great pick-me-up, well that and I'm taking the kids to the movies this weekend. Fall Throw...

Still crocheting away on my throw. Not much progress though. I adore this square, (Refreshing Throw from Red Heart) but it is not for scraps as you can see, I've ran out of yarn on 4 different colors. So now if I want those squares-colors on the throw I either need to purchase each color which doesn't help my stash clearing or find something made and unravel it. It's possible, I have quite a few things started but not finished for some reason or other. Anywho. I'm reeeeeeeealy hoping to buy a new laptop this week. Big plans, so hopefully Mr. Sweethearts and I agree this is the week to do that. :0) Have a fantastically lovely day, all day long.

A Crown and a throw

Earlier, I wrote this looooong amazing post, all on my cell and then it disappeared. I don't have the heart to re do it yet. So, anyways. Miss A needed a crown for her costume tomorrow and this is what I came up with. Hopefully I can find the Stiffen Stuff. The squares are from Redheart.com, the Refreshing Throw. Pattern number LW1669. I'm using stash yarn in fall colors. Love. Love, love how it resembles a quilt and has a raised fleur design. Very pretty. Have a beautiful afternoon!

I've been working on some scarves lately, one for a CAL, and one for a charity. The brown scarf is the Surreybelle, pattern link on the sidebar in my patterns and the white one is a thistle pattern found on Ravelry. It's a neat pattern, how the stitches come together and form this flowery scarf is fun.

These adorable little Mary Jane style slippers I made for Anna this past weekend. Since the mornings are a little colder, she needed some, plus they are cute! The pattern is from a Japanese book for a baby, but I used ww in place of thread and a size g hook, so they just fit.

On another note, Heather from The Good Life is crocheting a scarf in a cal, so I decided to crochet one too. I'm using the Surreybelle pattern, link to pattern is on the side bar in My Patterns. I just love this pattern! It's the Spring Drew String purse from Drew Emborsky. This is the second time I've made it, the wooden beads have flowers on them, not sure if that shows in the photo or not. You can find Drew's patterns on Lulu.com, Ravelry and of course on The Crochet Dude. I still need to line it, so another pic soon!

While cleaning closets...we came across this little hoodie I had made my middle kiddie, Big E, way back in 2002 or 2003. I thought it was most definitely blog worthy because it was the first garment I ever made, also experience with post sts, and modification to a pattern. This was a learning experience, and Big E looked sooooo cute in it! I don't know if we have any photos with him wearing it, but I'll look. The original pattern is from Lion Brand and the stitch is a waffle stitch. I may have accidentally did that stitch, since at that time I really wasn't sure what I was doing, any way..... much better photos coming! Can't wait! Happy Saturday! ;)

Well, if you have to wash dishes, it might as well be a sunny chore and after all the knitting the past 2 weeks, I sat down to crochet a sunny yellow dish rag. Just sc, dc, repeats in the front loop to make ridges, they wash dishes so well, hahaha, then sc and shell border. Cute, fun, functional and quick. Love it!

I finished it! Yayayayaya! I'll get a photo of Miss A wearing the sweater later today, but I had to show you now cause I just finished it!

The sleeves have a crochet border, cause dpn's and I don't get along and I love crochet edgings. We will discuss that later... here it is! I was going to add a flower or buttons. What do you think?

I'm knitting Miss A a nifty little sweater. This is going much better than the hat. Loving it! (I'm still crochet crazy, just knitting some too) hopefully I'll be back online laptop/pc wise with in less than two weeks. ;) Mr. Sweethearts has jumped onboard for just buying a new one. Yay me! Anyway... this sweater is a free pattern from Ravelry and I'm substituting a thinner yarn, because I like the look of it knitted and a bigger needle as well as adding in stitches, hopefully it'll fit her. She's in need of some new clothes as kids have a way of outgrowing everything, so I'm gonna make her some. It helps that we just got an Ollies store in. Nice yarn for cheap! Woohoo! That store rocks, Google it.

Since its about that time of year, I knitted my middle child a hat. It's just plain ol Red Heart in camo. I used size 8 circs. It only took about a week and a half...hahaha! I could crochet fifty hats in that time, but its cute, the camo pattern really came out with the knitting. He's happy, so I'm happy too. Have a fun tastic day!

Do you ever want to make something, but don't have or can't find the right yarn or pattern or are just in a melancholy mood, or maybe you just have had a difficult week..month...year...and just need something bright, fun, easy yet interesting due to various stitches or colors? Welllllll.......

That's where I am today. So, I'm just going to use what ever I grab from my stash and make hexagons. Any colors, any patterns, anything goes really. It might take me a year as in between or undecided or a break from other projects, but the end result will be worth it. What do you think? Also going to make a ballet style wrap, (cause I need a sweater) haven't decided if it will be knit or crochet and some charity work too. Winter will be here soon. Guess I better get busy. I've decided to list it for free.
It's on Ravelry as a pdf, so you will need to be a member there to download it. It has photos to help you form the shape, so it really isn't something I can do on my blog right now, since I no longer have the photos saved and don't have the extra time right now to re~make it for new photos. So, head on over to Ravelry and enjoy your Whimsical Heart Doily!

Link to it in Ravelry if you do make it so I can see all the different colors. To me, that is the most exciting part of making patterns, seeing everyone's take on it.

It is a more difficult pattern, you have to have a working knowledge of doilies and stitches. It is not something a beginner can easily make. It also requires liquid starch or a stiffening agent to hold the shape.

My modifications were on the toe strap, I wasn't sure about the part that goes between the toes, so I did a sc in each ch and I slst around instead of sc. I like the contrast, it looks like real flip flops.

I can't wait till my cousins baby shower! I think these will be super cute instead of giving her baby booties. (which I LOVE) but it will be hot here still when she has the baby, so these are appropriate.

I was using all my thread scraps to make this dress and have run out of black...which is the main color...should I buy another ball or just leave it as a top instead or finish it without any black to make it completely from scraps? I am crocheting little flowers to sew on too. I like the idea of it as a top, but the dress would be so cute. Hmmm...

I've put it aside for awhile now and am ready to finish it off. What do you think?

Mr. Sweethearts' biopsy came back and it was negative!!!!!
So he has another MRI in three months...to follow up...but Praise the Lord!

This UFO is a top I started for me a year or more ago. I saw a few pictures on Ravelry in crochet clothing groups, then I forgot about it...to find it in the bottom of my plastic tub of Crochet stuff. I've been working on it for a few days, but, with no pattern, I'll have to make up the bottom as I go. Since we've moved, its hard to find everything. Sooooo, I hope I don't run out of yarn...it'd really be nice to wear over a tank at the beach this summer!

The test Mr. Sweethearts had Monday...

the Dr, said he has to confer with our regular oncologist to be sure, but he thinks Mr. Sweethearts doesn't need surgery! Yay! Thank you Jesus! Praise the Lord! WooHoo!
He did a biopsy of the original cancer site just to be sure, but he said if there is nothing wrong with the results, then he would not need surgery, just follow ups every 3-6 months. So we have another appt. in a week to followup this past Mondays test....but that was some Great News! Faith in the Lord is amazing...it could have went either way...we prayed for healing and trusted God's will no matter what, so we are very happy with that!

Have a Beautiful Sunshiney Day! All Day Long and Pray for those who are going through cancer and their families and their support!

This is Delicious!
Just thought I'd share what I made for dinner today, just something simple, since it is so hot out side.

The bread I started last night. It is a no knead, rest for 24 hours kinda thing. Very good, very bubbly and really strong flavored. I did add about 3 teaspoons of sugar to take some of the bitterness out. Here is the recipe I used.

The pasta I saw on Food Network this past week. Giada De Laurentiis cooked it. It uses orzo pasta, olive oil, salt, pepper, tomatoes, spinach (maybe she used basil, ? but I had spinach, so that's what I used) and cheese. I used mozzarella b/c that's what I had on hand. Well, not really on hand, but in the fridge, lol.

Yay! So I have a working laptop today. :) ;)

This cute little dress is from the Twilight Princess also from Crochet Garden. I didn't do the bottom of the dress or the sleeves, but I did sew on some simple pink fabric and added a rose to bring the skirt color up onto the top of the dress to tie it together.

is from Lullabies and Lace. It is the Vintage bag. You may remember it from a few posts ago. I used a japanese style handle instead of the wooden handles it calls for.

Hey! Hope you are having a wonderful day today! Happy Memorial Day! I have sooooo much fun stuff to show you, just need to fix the technical difficulties first. Miss A is in need of some new dresses due to a growth spurt, so here is the start of one. The yarn is Caron Spa, I'm reusing from another project that didn't turn out. The pattern is from the Crochet Garden, its the Market.dress, such a cute pattern too. Just go to Crochetgarden.com and you will see it. I love their designs.

My middle son had an awards banquet today, so we stopped and picked up some fresh strawberries. There's nothing sweeter and more tart than that :)

We went to the Dr. for the follow up for my husband yesterday and they aren't sure if it is growing back or not. So there will be one more test scheduled in two more weeks, then we will know for sure if he will need surgery or not, so we're still praying.

As for today.....we are going to enjoy these South Carolina fresh strawberries. Have a fun weekend! I'll be back Monday with a super cute crochet project.

Hi! I was able to make...lol, my laptop work today. So I thought I'd take advantage of it. :)
I think it is a power problem, with the cord or battery, possibly over heating. It will get fixed, I just need to find the time to get it done. Anywho! On to more important things...

Isn't this adorable??? I have made these before but used an online tutorial and it turned out great. On Face Book I saw a lady's crochet flowers with beads in the center and LOVED them, so I strung some beads and got busy. What do you think?

Hey! Just wanted to show you what I've been up to. Getting ready for a market day! Woohoo! Can't wait. I know you've seen lots of flower hats online, but they sell. As do baby slippers and girl hairbows too. There's more, bags, slouchies, lots of stuff, it just wouldn't all fit in the pic. Having technical difficulties with my laptop so this is a cell post. So sorry, I really like using my laptop better because of formatting photos and stuff.

Fun things on the way

Oh, I just Love Spring! Don't you? Today we are awaiting the results of all the tests my husband has had done. They are supposed to call. So we are trusting the Lord to see us through. I am happy. I am blessed and thankful too. Praise the Lord for this day. :) I could be nervous and scared or worried, and in truth, I am alittle...but it's ok. God is bigger than me and He has a plan.

Barely over a year ago...I wrote this post. I stumbled across it a few days ago. I had forgotten about it. I read it and I cried.

I am amazed by the forgiveness and love and mercy and grace God blesses me with each day. I don't deserve it, but He sent His son Jesus for me and you. I am humbled and trusting that no matter what the outcome, God is in control of the situation.

This post was going to be about something completely different, but my husband called from work and then I just started writing. I like that. When I was younger, I always kept a book or journal, not a diary, but a collection of poems and notes. Just my thoughts and feelings. Short stories. I think I will do that again. I have really, here, just in a more physically creative way with crochet and sewing. This blog has become my outlet for my thoughts and feelings, things that are simple but make me happy. Thank you all for sticking around and reading or working the patterns, your comments. You truly make my day.

The aqua thingy in the back is a purse from Lullabies and Lace. I've made the pattern a few times in the past, but am re-working it just a little to more suit my needs now. Should be finished really soon and I can't wait to show you! You can find that pattern here. I also had the Vintage Shell Clutch pattern, but must have lost it when my laptop crashed b/c it isn't saved now. Sigh... I think she is on vacation this week. They may be listed on Ravelry, I'm not sure.

Just the sweetest things!

I was awakened yesterday morning by kisses...lots of kisses from Miss A~. She squished my cheeks and made a kissy face and giggled like crazy! There is nothing sweeter than a 3 year old laughing. Needless to say I had a great start to the day after all those laughs!

This morning, my middle child gave me his 3 Mother's Day surprises...Raspberry Tea with a colored teapot, a flower basket with each flower stem having a chore listed he would do and a bag...with breakfast in bed. :) Oatmeal and a banana. :)

A few days ago my oldest came home with a book...he had been published locally and out of his entire school...won 2nd place in prose writing! WOW! This Mother's Day I am thankful for 3 very sweet children, each are as different as sunshine and snow, and are all special in their God given ways. I can only wonder what tomorrow will hold.

These adorable fabric flowers are from the circles in the post before! Sweet little things! Aren't they? While perusing through a favorite blog...I found her tutorial on how she makes them. So I followed her instructions and have some very sweet embellishments. A Mother's Day corsage...Miss A~ a hairbow, an accessory embellishment...the list goes on and on where they would brighten the day.

You can expect many more sweet little things from fabric and ribbon to come. I've decided to share more than just crochet and the occasional craft here. So you will see lots of fun things as well as my crochet too. :)

Yay!!!!! I re-purposed the orange Wheaties t-shirt from the previous post! and I liked it so much...I did another one too! (no photos of that one yet)

The one thing I did that she didn't do was to stretch the elastic thread when winding the bobbin. It works better that way. Here is a great tutorial for working with elastic thread. Use regular thread in the top of your machine, so elastic thread only in the bobbin. ;)

Please pardon the pasty face and the messy kitchen. :) I had been cleaning house, then took a break to make this. Because a girl has to have some fun during the day, lol.

Ohh! Loving the sewing right now! So much fun...and I'm just re-purposing or using scraps! :) Pssssst.....I have an excellent idea for the peasant top too..just have to find the right shirt.

Yes, I am really happy about these. Going to be sewing a little bit. ;)

Here's the problem with Katie's Blanket...someone...most likely Mr. Sweethearts...had marinara sauce on his fingers when he picked up the blanket. (its bigger than it looks in the photo) It is tomato based...so it will/did/is staining and will not come out. It is alot of work to rip out. Sooooo maybe Katie's blanket (intended for a boy) will be a girly blanket and have flowers sewn onto one side? Which makes it only a one sided blanket?

What would you do? Any ideas as to how I can get the sauce out with out ripping and reworking a bazillion rows? Ok, so not really a bazillion rows...but it seems like it.

While we were in Pigeon Forge Tn a few months ago, (Wow! it does not seem that long) we picked up a neat knit hat for my boys similar to this, just more "manly" colors, lol. Aqua, lime and white are more suited to a baby than an 8 year old.

...and a little diaper cover to make it a set.

I have been thinking through some ideas.....

to etsy again or not?

or to pursue designing/publishing?

Just work on things to sell locally at markets?

All three?

These are a few of the things I've been tossing around, but haven't been able to make a decision on here lately. With so much going on in my personal life, it's been hard to devote some time to this thought. I'd like to make a career from it, hmmm. More on this to come. ;)

Which are similar to locusts are just this morning crawling out of the ground after a 13 year nap.

Really...13 years. They are set to swarm the south this May, and the males are very loud when sounding their call. Creepy looking things, like huge bees, but red eyed and green. My son snapped this photo today and I used it for a teaching lesson. The brown thing is what it was protected in while camping out for 13 years. Neat.

I started with this...

Some vintage stuff my mom gave me for Miss A's room. It was worn and yellowed and even brown in a spot or two...or ten..

a can of Ballet Slipper pink from Krylon and Ta~Da~

isn't it pretty sweet?

Also did a vintage picnic basket I picked up at a flea market a few years ago too. Soft sage I believe was the name of the paint.

Here it is on the counter. It doesn't appear to be fully covered, but it is. A whole can of spray paint and there are many spots still not covered. So I will live with it for a day or so and see if I like the well used look it seems to have or if I want to buy another can and cover it completely. Anywho...tomorrow is another day!

Remember the Pillows post? Well, I finally finished them and a little dress for Miss A~ too!

This is what the back of the pillows look like.

and the front and a side view of the round flower pillow.

Here is the yoke of the fabric and yarn dress. I didn't use a pattern for this, just a raglan style increase. Its fun to have an idea, pick up a hook and get busy. I did have to make a few stitches here and there fit in, lol, but it works and Miss A~ got a new dress from it.
